TRAVELING TO THE ISLAND…
01/ PARKING
Deep Point Marina
Your journey begins here. The Bald Head Island Ferry and long-term parking are hosted at Deep Point Marina. You’ll want to be sure you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your ferry departure time to allow for luggage drop-off, parking, and boarding the ship.
02/ FERRY
Bald Head Island Ferry
This is your ticket to the Island. Tickets can be purchased at the Ferry terminal at Deep Point Marina in Southport, NC. The ferry leaves every hour on the hour. Each guest is allowed six luggage items with their ticket and can drop off their luggage at the terminal prior to parking.
03/ TRAM
Bald Head Island Tram
The Bald Head Island Tram will transport you and your luggage to The Palmetto Place. Just be sure you place your tram reservation well in advance as it books quickly in peak season. Your BHI ferry ticket includes the use of the tram to and from the Palmetto Place, though you must make a tram reservation separately from the ticket purchase.
CRUISING THE ISLAND…
Golf Carts
The Palmetto Place is equipped with a 4-passenger golf cart for your traveling pleasure. There is storage underneath the backseat bench for beach towels and beverages. Be sure to charge the cart between uses for optimal use.
Bicycles
The Palmetto Place also has two bicycles to help slow down your pace and capture the natural beauty that surrounds you. We recommend a short ride to East Beach to catch the sunrise at Access 39.
